The Brookturn Co. was formed in concept in the early 80's by International Movie Star, Ina Balin and her actor brother, Richard Balin. In 1997, Richard's daughter, Melissa Balin started informally using the name for her independent productions and in 2003, The Brookturn Co. became officially recognized by the Franchise Tax Board of the State of California.
In 2006, The Brookturn Co. (http://www.brookturn.com) debuted to the World Market and received much notice at both Cannes and AFM for their innovative use of technology and their outside-of-the-box marketing campaigns. At Cannes, The Brookturn Co. was the first in the world to sell distribution rights on eBay. At AFM, The Brookturn Co. teamed up with Rhizotomi Group Releases (http://www.rhizotomigroup.com) to create the first online auctions dedicated to the pursuit of a fair global marketplace for the buying and selling of media.
